The Gods Who Return
Which gods return after the world's destruction?
In *The Deluding of Gylfi*, the earth that rises from the sea is green and beautiful. Vidar and Vali survive, unharmed by sea or fire. *The Lay of Vafthrudnir* also names them as the gods who will live in the gods' dwelling place after the flames die down.
In time, Thor's sons Modi and Magni arrive, bringing Mjolnir. Then Baldr and Hod return from Hel. The assembled gods sit down and talk about the events of long ago.
In *The Seeress's Prophecy*, fields bear crops without being sown. All troubles will pass. Baldr and Hod live in the halls of the gods, and Hoenir chooses twigs for divination.
