The Winter Without Summer
What happens in the winter without summer?
In *The Deluding of Gylfi*, great wars first break out across the world. They last for 3 winters. Driven by greed, brothers kill one another. Fathers and children lose their lives, and family bonds fall apart.
Then comes the great winter. Snow blows in from every direction. Bitter cold grips the world, and fierce winds rage. Even the sunshine brings no relief. There will be 3 winters with no summer between them.
At last, a wolf swallows the sun, bringing terrible disaster to humankind. Another wolf seizes the moon. The stars vanish from the sky. The earth and rocky mountains shake violently. Trees are torn from the ground, mountains crumble, and every chain and rope breaks. At last, the wolf Fenrir is free.
