Clever Loki
What part does Loki play among the gods?
Loki is counted among the gods. His father is the giant Farbauti. His mother is Laufey, who is also called Nar. Loki himself has another name, Lopt. His brothers are Byleist and Helblindi. His wife is Sigyn, and his son is called Nari, or Narvi.
Loki has a handsome face and a pleasing appearance. But he has a bad temper, and his behavior is changeable. His cleverness surpasses that of others, but it is called cunning. He devises schemes for everything. He is also called a bringer of strife among the gods.
His cleverness shows in his dealings with the gods. Loki often gets them into terrible trouble. Then, through his schemes, he often rescues them from it. Loki is both the troublemaker and the helper.
